(North Las Vegas, Nev.)--Move over Fourth of July and New Year's Eve! Station Casinos continues its fireworks tradition on November 11 with an 11-minute free fireworks show to celebrate the highly anticipated grand opening of Aliante Station to the public.
The appropriately timed 11-minute fireworks show continues to play off the fun Aliante Station executives have been having with the number 11 that began when the grand opening date of November 11 at 11:11 p.m. was selected. Legend even has it that 11:11 is the time of day when one can make a wish, and there is a greater chance of it coming true. Not bad odds for a casino opening!
Station Casinos' tradition of celebrating a grand opening with a fireworks show dates back to 1994 with Boulder Station, the Company’s second property opening. The fireworks fun continued thereafter with every property the company built from the ground up including the openings of Texas Station in 1995, Sunset Station in 1997, Green Valley Ranch in 2001 and Red Rock Resort in 2006.
The fireworks show will begin at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11 prior to Aliante Station’s doors opening to the public at 11:11 p.m.
"Fireworks shows are one of those universal experiences that make everyone happy," said Joe Hasson, vice president/general manager of Aliante Station. "What better way to open our doors to the community then with an amazing fireworks show," Hasson concluded.
The Grucci's of New York have been commissioned to produce Aliante Station's grand opening fireworks show. They will spend nearly 60 hours to choreograph the show and another 320 hours to set it up.
The Grucci's of New York have produced some of the most extravagant fireworks shows in the world including seven consecutive presidential inaugurations, the Salt Lake City and Athens, Greece Olympics and most recently, the six-property fireworks show Station Casinos hosted over July 4 for the entire Las Vegas community.
The fireworks show will be choreographed to music themed after flight, playing off the Aliante community's soaring birds and nearby neighbor Nellis Air Force Base including songs from artists such as Lenny Kravitz (Fly Away), Stevie Wonder (Higher Ground) Frank Sinatra (Fly Me to the Moon), Hilary Duff (Fly) and Sugar Ray (Fly). The show will conclude with Aliante Station's grand opening themed song "That's the Way I Like It" by KC and the Sunshine Band.
The $662 million Aliante Station is conveniently located off Clark County's 215 Beltway at 7300 Aliante Parkway in North Las Vegas. It will offer 202 hotel guest rooms and suites; six restaurants and a food court to satisfy every taste bud and budget; 14,000 square feet of meeting, banquet and convention space; Regal Cinemas' 16-screen movie theatre; Access Showroom, a 600-plus-seat entertainment concert venue and an array of popular gaming choices including traditional table games, a poker room, state-of-the-art race and sports book and slot machines. Aliante Station will be Station Casinos' 11th hotel-casino and its 18th property in Southern Nevada.
