FORTUNE Magazine Honors Station Casinos Fourth Year in a Row

Las Vegas, Nev. - Station Casinos, Inc. once again was named one of FORTUNE Magazine’s "100 Best Companies to Work For," an honor the Company is enjoying for the fourth year in a row. Station Casinos is the only company headquartered in Nevada to make FORTUNE’s "100 Best Companies to Work For" list, where it was ranked #33 for 2008, and continues to be the only gaming corporation to have ever been selected for this prestigious honor.

Further enhancing the honor was the Company’s ranking as one of the top five companies with the most diverse workforce with minorities making up 52 percent of its workforce.

FORTUNE highlighted the Company’s Citizenship Assistance Program among the employee perks that earned this recognition. The program was developed from the Company’s annual "Dream Survey" that identifies issues important to the team members' quality of life and learned that its team members aspired to become U.S. Citizens but were overwhelmed by the process. Station Casinos provides support throughout all stages of the naturalization process including free application classes, immigration clinics and one-on-one counseling with a legal review of the application; a payroll advance for the application; free U.S. history and government classes, a practice interview, as well as English as a Second Language (ESL) classes if needed.

In 2007, 26 team members received their US citizenship and 58 more team members are currently in the process of receiving their citizenship through this program.

Additionally, the Company also offers a homeownership assistance program including down payment assistance to those team members who qualify a computer ownership program and adult education and GED assistance.

"Our team members are the foundation of our success and the element that sets us apart from our competition. We have always been able to attract and retain the best people by following the simple rule of treating our team members the way we would want to be treated," said Frank Fertitta III, Station’s chairman and CEO. "My brother Lorenzo and I are honored by FORTUNE Magazine’s ongoing recognition."

To pick the "100 Best Companies to Work For", FORTUNE works with Robert Levering and Milton Moskowitz of the Great Place to Work Institute to conduct the most extensive employee survey in corporate America. Of some 1,500 firms that were contacted, 406 companies participated in this year’s survey. Nearly 100,000 employees at those companies responded to a 57-question survey created by the Great Place to Work Institute, a global research and consulting firm with offices in 30 countries. Most of the company’s score (two-thirds) is based on the results of the survey, which is sent to a minimum of 400 randomly selected employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about the management’s credibility, job satisfaction and camaraderie. The other third of the scoring is based on the company’s responses to the Institute’s Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, methods of internal communications, training, recognition programs and diversity efforts, etc. After evaluations are completed, if news about a company comes to light that may significantly damage employees’ faith in management, that company may be excluded from the list.

The list appears in the February 4 issue of FORTUNE, available on newsstands January 28 and now available online at www.Fortune.com.
