(Las Vegas, Nev.)-- While Station Casinos' two proposed Reno projects will bring many new and exciting entertainment amenities to both locals and tourists alike, the projects will also usher in significant economic benefits for the Reno community--including the creation of approximately 2,150 permanent jobs, 1,100 construction-related jobs and millions of dollars spent on local goods and services.
The findings are a culmination of a comprehensive financial proforma by the Company for its two proposed Reno projects: an eight-acre site by the Reno-Sparks Convention Center and an 88-acre site on the southwest corner of Mount Rose Highway and U.S. 395. The findings utilized a combination of data from the Company's long history in development and gaming operations; data from its 14 existing properties including profit and loss reports, revenues, expenses, and net incomes; Reno-specific economic and gaming research derived from Reno publicly traded gaming corporations; and tax structure information provided by Washoe County, the Reno Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA), the City of Reno and the State of Nevada.
The only assumption made in the report was about the size and scope of the projects as final and approved development plans for one of the projects is pending. Therefore, the numbers were derived from evaluating and averaging three possible scenarios of a small, medium or large size venue and includes key indicators such as hotel room count and amenity offerings. The economic benefit report will be finalized upon the City of Reno's completion of its Redfield Regional Plan which will provide direction and criteria for the Company to develop its project off Mount Rose Highway.
Key economic benefit findings include:
These findings are not inclusive of gaming and sales tax, providing significant additional tax revenue to the State of Nevada.
