STATION CASINOS AWARDS $10,000 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

7/26/05

Las Vegas-Jillian Petuskey, a 2005 graduate of Palo Verde High School, has been selected as this year's recipient of the Station Casinos, Inc. Academic Scholarship to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Each year, the scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who has a parent employed at one of Station Casinos' 14 Southern Nevada properties. Petuskey's father Bill, who joined Station Casinos in 2003, currently works in Casino Operations at Texas Station and will soon be transferred to Red Rock Resort, the company's newest property scheduled to open in late March 2006.

The scholarship program, one of many benefits offered to Company employees, is in its fifth year and offers the recipient a total of $10,000 with $2,500 given each year for four years of their college education. In return, scholarship recipients must remain enrolled at UNLV and maintain a 3.0 grade-point average.

As an honors student at Palo Verde High School, Petuskey was involved as a thespian in theatre and musicals and organized her church's Christmas Toy Drive.

"The Station Casinos scholarship will help me fulfill my dream of a college education," Jill Petuskey said. "I will use the money for books, computer programs and other important learning tools that I will need to succeed at UNLV". She hopes to one day own her own business.

"We created the scholarship program because we know how expensive it is to send a child to college and believe it's important to lend our support to our team members who have worked hard to instill strong educational values in their children," said Valerie Murzl, vice president of human resources for Station Casinos, Inc. Since its inception in 2000, Station Casinos has sponsored scholarships for five outstanding students.

Founded in 1976 with Palace Station, Station Casinos operates 14 properties in Southern Nevada that include various amenities, including numerous restaurants, entertainment venues, movie theaters, bowling, hotel rooms and convention/banquet space, as well as traditional casino gaming offerings. In addition, Station manages the Thunder Valley Casino near Sacramento, California on behalf of the United Auburn Indian Community and has a 6.7% interest in the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
