THE POKER ROOM AT SUNSET STATION IS SMOKE-FREE

Henderson, NV-Sunset Station Hotel Casino today announced its poker room will be smoke free beginning April 1st. The announcement comes after the positive response by poker room patrons to the smoke-free status of other Station properties.

Following the January 4th non-smoking opening of the Poker Room at Santa Fe Station, Texas Station and Palace Station quickly followed suit by designating their poker rooms non-smoking Feb. 1st.

Santa Fe's decision to maintain a non-smoking status for their poker room was a first among local off-strip gaming operators. But it is now becoming a trend.

"What began as an experiment aiming to increase the comfort of our guests while enjoying poker became an immediate success," said Weldon Russell, Director of Ancillary Games for Station Casinos.

"Our customers responded so favorably to smoke-free poker play at Santa Fe, Texas and Palace, we've decided to designate Sunset Station's poker room non-smoking," he said.

Smoking will still be allowed on the slot floor, bingo room, casino bars and other casino areas at Sunset Station.
