THE POKER ROOMS AT TEXAS AND PALACE STATION GO SMOKE-FREE

Las Vegas-Station Casinos today announced that following the January 4th non-smoking opening of the Poker Room at Santa Fe Station, it is following suit at Texas Station and Palace Station by designating those poker rooms non-smoking beginning Feb. 1st.

Santa Fe Station's brand new poker room features 8 tables and 80 seats offering Texas Holdem' and Omaha poker in the 2,400-square foot space. The room is part of the $65 Million expansion and renovation at Santa Fe nearing completion. The Showroom at Santa Fe opened in December, the Poker Room in January, and the opening of Century Theaters and Kids Quest childcare center will follow early this spring.

But perhaps the most significant aspect of Santa Fe's poker room was the decision to maintain a non-smoking status for the space, a first among local off-strip gaming operators.

"What began as an experiment aiming to increase the comfort of our guests while enjoying poker became an immediate success," said Weldon Russell, Director of Ancillary Games for Station Casinos.

The poker rooms at the Texas Station and Palace Station will go smoke-free Feb. 1st. Smoking will still be allowed on the slot floor, bingo rooms, casino bars and other casino areas at Texas and Palace. The poker rooms at Boulder Station and Sunset Station will continue to allow smoking.
